GWS A-10

Postby MDG » Fri Mar 25, 2005 10:59 pm

Here's the new one in progress. I know, not as cool as Kerry's RJ but here it is anyway. Also posting to rcgroups...

Fuse prep. CF installed in tail and push rod guide tube glued in for elevator.

Image

Fuse reinforcement per instructions

Image

Epoxied fuse halfs together. Used bags of water for weight

Image

Tail feathers

Image

Vstabs reinforced with CF

Image

Hstab installed. Also reinforced with CF

Image

Elevator installed. Make sure both sides are even

Image

Vstabs installed. Making sure they are squared up

Image

Used bamboo skewer to poke hole for longer reinforcement rod (CF)

Image

Nacelles

Image

Cut tabs

Image

Place motor inside nacelle, epoxy halves together. I had to enlarge the wire hole on the nacelle for the motors. I am using BL motors...3 wires...

Image

Airframe done and ready for electronics and paint

Image

Hope to have it flight worthy by Sunday (weather permitting).

Did u ever figure out what happened to the last A-10 ?

Rob and I were talking on the phone this week and I was trying to remember what config u used for the ESC for dual motors.

Battery pack not charged = no power = gravity take-over

I am using 2 CC 25 amp ESCs. This time I'm going with a 2s2p 2250 pack and hopefully, a lighter AUW...

The A-10 I have flown in the wind 10-12 mpm. It is a draggy airframe and doesn't do well (hard to fly in the wind)

The Mirage handles the wind fine.

It is Justin launching the mirage.

I have no idea how the thumbnail pic came up. Unless the vid and the pic have the same name?? :? :? :? That is actually a picture of my old corsair from a while back...

Hmm. I think I have an idea. It will have to wait until later this week or maybe next week.
Thanks I think I just figured out how to do it.
