Easy Star and ATC2K aerial video

Postby jeffmcclain » Tue Dec 09, 2008 8:10 pm

Just found this site (friend of mine pointed me to it; Thanks, Gordon!). I use to fly nitro (back then, we just called them gas...grin) RC planes about 15 years ago. Fell out of the hobby, and am just getting back into it in "electric" real big. The EP foam has really helped the "crash" tolerance factor, and the FPV scene is what really drug me back into it (though I'm not rich enough with all the problems and job security issues these days to really get into it as much as I would like, head tracker gyros, OSD and autopilot returns with high dollar HD sony cams and Rx/Tx with goggles). So, I'm flying electrics, and putting a helmet cam on for now. For now, Gordon is getting into the FPV part than me, but I'm happy with my ATC2K. Got my first footage here.

Edited down the 10 minutes to about half, and I obviously need to learn that flying loops and jerky tight rolls/turns is NOT a good way to get good Aerial video. Slow and easy is better. I'm going to try some thermals up at Table Rock with it later if weather keeps being nice.

Been flying at lunch at Simplot Fields, and we are fortunate to have a big empty future school lot that I go to on weekends.

Anyway, hello everyone!

Where is the field you use on the weekends?

The field is Simplot soccer fields. No regular schedule, just try to get out there when the wind isn't blowing... ;)
