 I have no idea how I missed this post.

 Nice videos.

I think I have heard about you before. You were one of the first local heli pilots here who mounted a camera to a heli. I also think I have come across you on other forums. Dont you have an AP business or have done AP work for local people before ?

Thanks.
I guess I was one of the first in the area sticking cameras under helis , Ive been doing it for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy it. I do have a business using them, but that's been kind of slow lately. I mostly do real estate and scenic photos, and video just mostly for fun.

Did you have to stop shooting pics for money due to the FAA and their classification of RC for profit and cameras being a UAV.

I didn't have to stop taking photos,I still do I just revamped my business a little. I tend to use my mast setup a lot more anyhow so the whole FAA thing even though it sucks didn't really hurt me much. The writing was on the wall for years anyhow I just took the time to read it is all . :D

Is that decision going to be ratified and cleared up ? I have not kept up with it. I would like to hear your opinion.

I haven't heard anything positive lately, just a lot of hear say. If the FAA moves like most government entities it'll be a while before anything happens. As far as "grounding" goes, well that all depends on who you ask. Ive asked locally and nobody here has told me no, so I'm not too worried about it. I guess I'm in the fortunate position though to have had a backup plan in place for just such an event. Truth is I use the mast a lot more than I ever used the helis or planes and it's a whole lot easier and safer to use in urban environments than any of those ever were... just have to watch out for overhead power lines is all, and occasionally I have to use guy ropes to steady it when the wind pics up. Other then that I prefer it any more to any of the airborne systems.
