Can my existing battery brick work in my SS?

Postby Rifter » Fri Feb 03, 2006 4:45 pm

Ok, I am still pretty unsure about the batteries. So, this is what I have.

An 8 battery brick of :

Cell Size: 2/3A
Chemistry: NIMH
Capacity: 1200mah

If I play around with the CoG, will this work on a 400 SS motor, until I can get the normal battery packs? Once the Deans connector (in the car) goes on the motor, I will be able to get this in the air. :-)

My other battery is a 9 battery brick of:

Cell Size: 2/3A
Chemistry: NIMH
Capacity: 1100mah

Would that one work as well, or too hot? Thanks!

That battery will work just fine. Mine is an 8 cell 1100 Mah and I get good flight times with mine with the 400 motor.

You know the batteries that we normally fly are the 2/3a NiMH batteries. They are just in a different configuration. The 9 cell woud work on th 400 as long as you go back to a 10' prop. It will give you more power, but I would keep a close eye on the heat if you are using it with the 11x7.
