Hey guys I was wondering what kind and what voltage of battery i should get for an SS w/ the 400 motor.. I would like it to be fairly affordable so i can have a few spares and so the charger doesnt cost me an arm and a leg... I apologize if this is question is already posted I looked around and didnt see find it so...

Thanks

The most common battery would be an 8 cell 1150mah Ni-Mh. You can get some from Mark at the field for $18 each. Boise Hobby has some also and they run in the low-mid $20s. I would recommend investing in a good charger up front as it will save you down the road. It will take better care of your batteries and should be compatable with different battery chemistries should you decide to advance to Lipoly in the future.

The other thought, is what I did. I bought a wattage PF12 (I think). It got good reviews, but I bought it used from a guy that never used it. (It was in original packaging). It cost me $34. I plan on using that, until I can afford to get a more premium charger. I will still have this one, for backup, as well.

Though, in all honesty, I have had a mixed bag in what I have picked up, off ebay. The ESC and charger seem good, my radio is kind of a flop.

Do it all the time. Just make sure that you have your ESC taped up so it doesn't get wet.
